Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Zero!

I'm here because of my interest in different cultures and the way we can learn not only about each other, but about ourselves through the contact with others. There is no better way to appreciate or understand a culture than through a local's guidance.

Interests

Books, movies, writing, journaling, stories, traveling, new cultures, learning, understanding, thinking, always thinking, late night conversations, trying new foods, walking new paths.

The Picture of Dorian Gray, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, The Boy With the Cuckoo Clock Heart, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, One Flew Over the Cuckcoo's Nest, The Brief, Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao, The Rum Diary, Brave New World, More Than Strangers, plenty of others but you get the idea.

Music: Tastes bounce around quite a bit, but I'm always wanting something new and love hearing suggestions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many to count, not because I would consider myself interesting, but because amazing is such a loose term. I've gone to Brasil, Ireland, and Italy, I've seen a shooting star, I've laughed and smiled, I've cried and thought, I've lived and died, shed a thousand skins, grown and learned. Simply put, life is amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I study Literature and English in my University and love reading and writing and can share the knowledge I've gleaned from my studies, which range from a host of issues both past and present and often the things I've learned have nothing to do with books or stories at all, at least not in the immediate sense, but deal more with people, culture, history, change, society, and so many other social sciences contingent upon each other. I also am a decent soccer player and love to play at any time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

While I don't really know how to cook I would love to learn and be ready to help out anywhere in the kitchen, even menial stuff, just so long as I'm part of the job. In a few years I plan on teaching English to non native speakers, so if you wish to practice your English I would love to help you.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy
