Hello new friends, my name is Patty. I am an easy going down to earth free spirit. I am a people person. I love meeting new people and experiencing their customs and culture. I am huge into positive energy, good vibrations and natural healing. I am a firm believer in the law of attraction. You put it out in the universe and it comes back to you just like Karma. I enjoy helping people I will often go out of my way to assist anyone in need. Even in little things such as people asking me for change to make a phone call I offer my cell phone or stopping on the side of the road to help someone out. It makes me feel really good to help others. At a young age I learned from my grandmother that you always give your seat to the elderly, pregnant women or the disabled and if you see a little old lady carrying bags you help her, cause you would want someone to do that for your loved one. I have very good manners. but would prefer to stay in a non smoking environment. I am not much into watching TV I prefer listening to music while drinking a cup of wine and enjoying good conversation. I am excited and looking forward to meeting interesting people. Also I have a wonderful sense of humor and love to laugh. I love life and live it to the fullest!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I decided to come on here because a friend who knows that I travel often told me that I should try couch surfing because you get to meet amazing people and get to see the places that you visit from a different perspective. It's like going to visit friends or family, a great experience as opposed to going to a lonely hotel room and you also make friends for life. while saving money and at some point reciprocating or paying it forward.
Now that I think about it I have hosted people before, a few years ago I was on a flight to Lima Peru and sitting next to me was this great guy from South Africa his name is Gerry, well Gerry told me how he and his friend who was sitting elsewhere in the airplane was going to Lima staying a few days and then going to the jungle. I asked him where they were staying and he told me that he had no clue. We had 8 hours to chat so I got to know him pretty well, he was a good Christian young men who was going on an adventure and said " my friend and I will catch a cab and check out places, mind you we were arriving at 10:30 pm and Lima is not the safest place at night at least not around the airport, especially two tall blue eyed guys with blond hair were going to be a target for creeps. So I said to him don't worry about it I will host you in my family's home in Lima I needed to make sure they were safe, so we got there I called my aunt told her we had company and they were a bit taken a back thought I was a but nuts but after a day there they felt comfortable then the Gerry and Abri became family. They stayed in our house their whole stay in Lima which was for about 3 or 4 days . We still keep in touch and of course if I visit South Africa I have two places to stay at ;)

兴趣

I have many interest my main one is traveling, I love visiting new places and learning how others live and experiencing their customs. I also love the outdoors, the beach, the mountains, would love to some day visit the jungle in the Amazon. I've visited Machu Picchu, it took my breath away. Europe is in my bucket list.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

A few months ago I ran into a dollar store to buy something and I saw this lady buying a bunch of socks, something made me ask her why was she buying so many socks. She told me that she helped out a homeless shelter and she was buying socks because those people have nothing that warmed my heart so I grabbed a bunch paid for them and gave them to her, I gave her my number and she contacted me right before Xmass and asked if I would contribute with anything I could because there were almost 300 homeless in the shelter and 89 of them were children. Financially I was not in a good position at the time but I told her not to worry about the children that I wanted them to have a wonderful Xmass and that God and the universe would make it happen. I reached out to friends and family, together we were able to buy 78 gifts and she came up with the rest with people she reached. We also donated a whole bunch of books so that the kids in the shelter could have a reading area. We did this in less than two weeks, I was fortunate that my sister's boss is a kindhearted man and told her to buy gifts for 25 kids.

I would love to learn things from my host such as their beliefs, thoughts and outlook on life. I believe that nothing is impossible it is a matter of attitude. I always pose this question to people, what does the person who says I can't and the one that says I cannot have in common? That they are both correct because if you say that you cannot you wont be able to and if you believe that you can you will accomplish it. In my world the cup is always full, even if it's half way because at that time the God or the universe knows exactly how much you need. ;)

I can share the Patty experience ;) I am a unique individual with various interest. I've been to many places and enjoy talking to people. I have many stories to share it is just a matter of meeting and if there is chemistry and the other person enjoys good conversation then I am the right fit.
