关于我

We are a gay couple of 10+ years who moved to Hawaii almost 5 years ago to reset and reconnect with nature, and have enjoyed thoroughly the wealth of knowledge the land has provided us in our hands on learning!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

To connect with anyone who is interested in who wants to share in our experience.

兴趣

We both have a background in personal arts, and complement each other in our strive to learn more about nature, trying to find a balance between leisure and necessity. We primarily eat from our backyard which gives us the opportunity to enjoy more local cuisine when we have the opportunity. We live on a three acre permacultured lot, developing a small diverse orchard, in a level 3 Lava zone, on the Windward side of Hawaii Island. Neither of us knew much about plants before moving here, but after we felt the calling we divested everything into what has been the most beautiful adventure ever! We are strong believers in Biophilia, and have found that if one is willing enough they can learn anything they need from the land.

音乐、电影和书籍

Music; anything relaxing and spiritually inspiring... Loreena McKennett, Enigma, Dahm The Bars, Clannad, WAH!, Etc... And a few odds and ends from eras gone by
Books; (when we have time to read) anything about plants, nature, cultural, or educational
Movies; (again when we have time) Both of us Love Sci-fi, adventure, documentary, and feel-good films (and the occasional horror) ... One of our favorite films is "Joe Vs. The Volcano" not because we live on one, but because it is one of the most relevant and poetic films that nails what it means to be human "Jump ... And we'll see"

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Finding each other is the most amazing adventure ever!! ... Making it this far together, while watching nature unfold right in front of our eyes is magic 🙏🙌✨🌱

教,学,和分享

We have two long term goals that stand above everything else; Land and Education. We know the land was here before us, and will be here long after we're gone, so we have invested everything in getting to know it and have a strong desire to learn from others as well as share what we've learned with others... So here we are opening our home to anyone interested.

We can offer a(n at times shared) Full-bunk bed, off grid, in a 10'x12' room with adjoining covered garden Lani's, both of which are 5'x10' (has power for small electronics, but please no large draw items like hair dryers). Our home is about equal distance from Volcano National Park, Old Historic Pahoa Village, and Hilo city (chuckles, more like a big town), so there is always something to do while still being moderately secluded in a Forrest environment. Our home is located off road, by about 1 mile, but the roads are passable, and we are about 6-miles driving from the nearest convenience store and 10 miles from the nearest farmers market, grocery, library, and drug store if needed. One of us does have our medical marijuana card so please don't be offended by the smell of pot. We ask that drinking be kept under control if you choose to partake, and that you do not smoke cigarettes in any of the structures or vehicle. The main level of our home we consider our common dwelling, co-ed indoor and outdoor shower, toilets, running (drinkable and filtered) water, good off-grid power but we usually shut down around 9p.m. or so (commonly called Puna Midnight). Our bedroom is in a loft above the common floor, so please be respectful with noise levels after. We have 2 very friendly dogs, a farm cat, 2 parrots, 2 goats, 12 chickens and 1 rooster, all of which are considered Family members to us 🤗
