About Me

I'm a 58 yr. old male who gets along well with just about anyone! I live a rather simple and frugal existence and that seems to suit me well. I live in a spacious yet sometimes messy house with two women and four cats.
Our home is located in southwest Seattle about a 3 mile bus ride from downtown. If you prefer a more suburban setting with a shaded yard and quiet sleeping, this is the spot for you!
We are also only a few blocks west of rt. 509 which is a more direct, less congested way to Sea-Tac airport!
Bus stop going to downtown is 1 block away; returning home, across the street. There is a large park across the street (Westcrest) with hiking trails, fields, playground, a zip line and a dog park (for those of you traveling with your loved ones), picnic grounds and more!
More of the same a short bus ride away to a park on the shores of Puget Sound (Lincoln Park), including a saltwater pool in the summertime!
Although we are considered to be West Seattle, we are less than 1 mile from the village of White Center where there are plenty of shops and restaurants and a large Spanish and Asian speaking communities.
Sadly, your dog(s) are not allowed in the house or yard. We now keep chickens in the front yard and the landlady has no appreciation for dogs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to work at the Green Tortoise Hostel in downtown Seattle but certain disabilities prevent me from continuing.
I enjoy and truly miss the commeraderie found in a hostel setting, so would like to open my home to the traveling peoples of the world!
