ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Dublin, I did survey, mapping and construction design work for many years and then took up computing, teaching and contracting. A major interest is alternative and renewable energy sources and I have a web site on that subject. I enjoy music, reading, walking and travelling to new places.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Now that my children have grown up, I am thinking of doing some lone travelling. I have only just heard of CouchSurfing which seems like a very good concept.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: most sorts - I have an extensive collection.
Music: classical, pop, country, soul, jazz, etc. but hip-hop, rap and the like, leave me cold, (which just proves how old and boring I am). I have an extensive music collection.
Books: most kinds, fiction and non-fiction. I have hundreds of books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having retired, I learnt to weld and built a 32-foot traditional-shape yacht in steel, starting from scratch (how macho is sewing upholstry and sails?). It took me three years of 80-hour weeks and cured me of ever wanting to do it again.
