About Me

Hi, I'm Patrick!

I am 32 years old and studied Philosophy and History in Graz. Now I am self-employed as a Freelancer in the area of web programming. This means that a lot has been said about my hobbies: Tech, History, Philosophy, Culture and Art.

Since October 2018 I am a full time traveler together with my wife Pia. We are traveling Open End and have been to 12 countries so far. It was a fascinating experience to travel through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Japan.

I especially love to meet great local people, who show me their culture and way of live. Also one of the most important things: Food! I love every kind of local food, particularly if it's local and authentic. I am undemanding and would be happy to talk to you about your and my culture and experiences.

We are traveling very spontaneously - sometimes we don't know where we will sleep that night and that's how we like it. Feels more like adventure and free. We use transportation, like the local people do it and also love to do hitchhiking. If you want to get to know us more, just have a look at our YouTube channel "weltreisezeit" or in Instagram @weltreisezeit. Hope you enjoy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't travel to see all the sights of the travel guides, but to get to know the people and culture of a country. Nothing can replace a nice conversation with a local person - not even 100 books. Because the most important thing in life is always between the lines. I do not collect sights, but such experiences.

I would also like to learn more about everyday life in your country from you and learn from it for my life.
