Hello! I'm Paddy, I'm 26 years old and I currently work as a pizza chef here in Sheffield, UK. I also run a small independent record label called Green Bay Wax with a friend and occasionally DJ across the UK and abroad. I'm currently travelling in Japan until late June so unfortunately can't host anyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Growing up I always had lodgers and foreign students staying in our house which was always an interesting and positive experience. In an old shared house I used to live in my friend used to host Couch Surfers often, which was always fun and eye mutually beneficial. I believe travel is the enemy of ignorance and that when we share our unique experiences all our lives are enriched.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading novels and comics and have a real soft spot for science fiction/speculative fiction in particular. Some of my favourite authors are Ursula Le Guin, Iain Banks, Haruki Murakami, Neil Gaiman, Bret Easton Ellis.

I have a broad taste in music and think that the more open-minded you are to music and art, the more potential for joy you're letting into your life. I listen to stuff ranging from Erykah Badu to Pig Destroyer and way beyond so I'm sure no matter what your tastes we'll be able to have an interesting conversation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not sure if anything I've done qualifies as 'amazing' but one thing that really opened my eyes up to the world was travelling around India with my mum when I was a child. She took me out of school for several months and we travelled all over southern India on a shoestring budget. For me, that was an amazing experience and one I've always been thankful for.
