About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see as much as I can from North America until August. Then I'll go back home.
ABOUT ME
I’m a student from the Universität Heidelberg and I came to St. Mary’s College of Maryland, USA, through an exchange program in August 2010 for 2 semesters. I have been to the United States before with a group of friends, we stayed in Florida for three weeks in September 2009 and after that I decided to apply to come as a student and spend some more time in the US.
My major in Heidelberg is Translation from Portuguese and English into German. I was born and raised in Brazil, so I speak Portuguese fluently. Since my semester in Germany doesn’t begin until October, I decided to stay in the US through the summer and see a little more from the country. I’m definitely going to the West Coast, where I haven’t been yet, and I also want to visit Canada.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm familiar with both Brazilian and German cultures and I've been living in the United States since eight months. I've been to Italy, Spain, France and Egypt and I want to learn much more of the world before my student life is over and I have only four weeks holidays a year :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed in Montréal, Québec City and Vancouver and I had a great time! Every host I had was very different from the other and yet I had great conversations and went along with all of them. Annette was working by the time I came, so we talked during breakfast and at night, but during the day I'd be walking the city on my own. Andrea, on the other hand, had time to show me whole Québec City the first day and I guess she could really work as a professional guide. Maria, in Vancouver, introduced me to her whole family and takes me to pic-nic with her friends. I'm really glad I was so lucky in all my experiences with couchsurfing!
Interests
My interests are to visit a lot of interesting places and meet gentle people on my way through North America. I also hope to better my English while I'm here.

Music, Movies, and Books
Oh, there are a lot of movies I like, but it's hard to think of all the titles. I love romance, comedy and fantasy, and I'm not so fond of horror. I also like documentaries.
I listen to music all day long, and the type of song I listen to depends on my mood or on the daytime. When I'm in the gym, I like Guns n' Roses and also pop songs that give me energy. At night, I like easy listening songs, like Norah Jones and Bossa Nova.
The book I'm reading at the moment is called 'Sophie's world' and I'm loving it. It's an introduction to philosophy and it's actually written for children, so that it's really easy to understand if you don't have any background.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Humm... I could state here that Canada is amazing! I'm in Vancouver right now, and this is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to.
