About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To glorify God in everything I do by loving him and loving others
ABOUT ME
Hello! My family calls me Patricia, but you can call me Pat. I have been procrastinating putting something up here because I wanted to make myself as sound as interesting as possible. I suppose many run into this quagmire so I decided to break free and write something.
I am a SUNY Geneseo senior double majoring in geology and geography. I love the Earth and I love learning the why behind it. I've been fortunate enough to travel a lot and broaden my horizons in that way. I'm particularly interested in sedimentary rock layers and maps. Experimental cartography has to have been my favorite class. This semester I'm making a geologic map in ArcGIS.
I was a Rotary Exchange Student in Debrecen, Hungary for a year. I miss Hungary a lot, even though I was an exchange student there for only a year. I miss the adventures, Bible studies, and friendships that I made there. I've lost most of my Hungarian language knowledge, but I look for things in my life that remind me of Hungary.
If you are someone who likes crazy stories, good clean fun, and home-cooked meals, we will get along well. You will soon find that I am a very spontaneous and optimistic person. I love to talk about Jesus because my faith is very important to me, but I don't bring him up in a normal conversation.
I have friends who are into drugs, but I am not and I get nervous when I am around drugs. Alcohol doesn't bother me as much because I was raised with wine at the dinner table and will have a glass on occasion.
I am married to an amazing man and we have a son who is about 1 year old, so if you're ok with destructive toddlers, you'll probably feel more comfortable at our house!
PHILOSOPHY
I think that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. He's a mysterious, yet familiar friend to me. I could tell you stories that would knock your socks off about it all and I swear I'm not crazy (although you will have to make that judgement yourself.)
I feel like everybody has a story and that its important to listen long enough to them. So many times I've made the mistake of assuming that someone I've never met is a certain way. I try in everything I do to show the kind of care and love to people that God has shown to me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Like classical music, worship music, jazz and celtic. Female jazz singers are my favorite though. Romantic comedies are ok, but a little depressing. Well thought out foreign films like 'Castaway on the Moon' I really enjoy as long as they aren't violent/scary. Nudity, gore, and eerie suspense in films disturbs me, but if there's only a little I can generally handle it. I like to read a lot, but since college, most of my reading time is spent reading scientific articles, textbooks, or the Bible. I enjoy fantasy a lot...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I flew over the Carpathian Basin in Transylvania w/ my friend's dad who was a private pilot.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know some words in Hungarian, I could tell you all about sedimentary rocks, volcanoes, the Bible, flying a plane, living in a country that doesn't speak your first language, cooking techniques, map-making techniques, making good Manhattans, whistling, writing music, playing piano, singing, playing French horn, playing tennis, cheerleading stunts, card tricks, card games and ArcGIS.I love adding to my knowledge in these areas or learning random facts that I never knew before. I would like to learn how to better play the guitar and how to speak Finnish/Lappish, because those languages intrigue me.
