About Me

こんにちは、日本の皆さん。パウと申します。どうぞよろしく。
Hello, my name is Pau. It’s a pleasure to meet you here, in this community where people from around the world come together to share who they are.

I’m a creator of traditional festive imagery from Catalonia, Spain — sculptures and painted figures that are part of the popular celebrations of my culture. Through my hands, I try to express something alive, connecting tradition, art, and community.

Over the years, I’ve learned that traveling is a way to discover myself. When I move away from the tourist routes and open myself to genuine encounters, I truly connect with people and with the land that welcomes me.

I enjoy the simplicity of daily life — a calm cup of tea, a quiet conversation, a walk through nature, or simply sharing silence. I believe beauty is born from authenticity and respect.

A dear friend once told me that three words describe me well: Culture, Nature, and Tenderness. These have become a small light that guides me wherever I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing to connect with people, the land, the city, and the nature around them.
I like to travel with openness and respect — feeling places from the inside, sharing both the closeness and the distance that make us human.

I am about to begin a journey to Japan, a country I deeply admire for its harmony between spirituality, tradition, and simplicity.
I would love to stay with local people, learn from their daily lives, share spaces and quiet moments, and discover the ancestral and spiritual side of Japanese culture.

In my home in Solsona (Catalonia), I also love welcoming travelers, showing them my art, my town, and the rhythm of my everyday life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I find inspiration in Walden by Thoreau and in every artistic expression that grows from simplicity and contemplation.
I also feel a strong connection with Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, and Haru by Flàvia Company — the latter has inspired me to begin this journey to Japan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve dedicated my life to creating traditional sculptures that are part of Catalonia’s festive celebrations — an art that unites people and keeps collective memory alive.
During one of my journeys in Ladakh (India), I crossed the Himalayas by hitchhiking.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I value most is sharing presence, respect, and openness.
I can teach sculpture, painting, drawing, or talk about Catalan traditions and stories from my travels.
I enjoy cooking simple dishes from my country, making music, dancing, or simply sharing silence together.

Every meeting is a chance to learn, to offer, and to grow together.
