About Me

Originally from Hilden, near Düsseldorf in Germany, I am now spending a gap year in Canada until starting my psychology studies next year. I've always wanted to come to North America, it has been a dream of mine since childhood. I started my adventure in Vancouver where I stayed for about 5 months. Right now I am on a traveling period through Canada and the US for several months.

To fund my travels, I have worked in a Coffeeshop in Germany and in a restaurant in Downtown Vancouver.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very wide music taste. I do listen to a lot of "mainstream" music, but also love to find indie singers and songwriters on Spotify and Soundcloud. I like music from today as well as older music, like from the 60s and 70s, or oldschool rap. A song I really can always listen to and never get tired of is "Empire State of Mind".

I like going to the cinema every now and then but in general I prefer TV serieses. For example, I loved Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Monk, and How I Met Your Mother.

My favourite authors are John Grisham and Stehen King and as I mostly prefer thrillers and mystery novels. One of my best reads was "The Circle" by Dave Eggers, which was my first novel in English (apart from school literature). Currently I am reading "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh" by Michael Chabon. At first, I almost regretted that choice though, as it's everything but an easy read for a non-native speaker...
