About Me
I'm taking a year out from my studies to work and fund my travels. My interests lie in sports (particularly skiing, cycling, athletics, swimming), photography, movie-making and business.
I've been learning Spanish for almost a decade and German for a few years to compliment Slovak, my mother tongue. I've completed qualifications in Geography and English Literature - the former I'm planning to study at a London university.
I'd like to think that I'm clean, respectful, laid-back and happy to share my experiences of my travels with anyone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
CS embodies some of the true values of travelling; sharing cultural experiences over some good food in exchange for a night or two of security and peace of mind. It is this trait that compels me to seek out surfers wherever I travel, as seen in my biggest feats, listed below.
2013 - I completed a successful 1,500km charity cycle from London around Europe, raising £3,000 for charity and covering 1,400km in 9 days. I had a couple of amazing couch surfing experiences for which I'm very grateful.
2016 (January - May) - backpacked around the world from London to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, and camping from Los Angeles to New York. I was hosted in NYC by two amazing surfers.
2016 (June - July) - backpacking and interrailing around Europe with a friend, beginning in Spain and going through France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia and Croatia.
I travel with a medium sized backpack, containing just a camera, a phone, a notepad, clothes, and some spending money - I'm counting on these to get me through, regardless of whether I'm in Laos or NYC. I'll be looking to the generous couch-surfing community to host me in some areas where hostels are over priced or locations that are too rural.
