About Me

About us: We have recently retired from lifelong careers, myself in Gamekeepering and my wife Julia in Banking.
We have a house in the countryside 3 miles from the nearest town and enjoy the peace and tranquillity the countryside has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are starting a new journey in life after retiring. First stop is travelling to Australia,. Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand & Cambodia before returning home to the UK briefly - thereafter we are living a dream and travelling through Europe on our Harley Davidsons for approximately 10 - 12 months. In this period of travelling through Europe we hope to meet as many local people as possible in the countries we are visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are so many that I don't have any in particular - really enjoy reading travel books, especially those by people who have travelled differently and enjoyed unique experiences. Spirituality books I enjoy reading also.
Julia's favourite book is Going Within by Shirley MacLaine which has inspired her to live each moment to its fullest, especially now retirement has been reached.
We both enjoy British comedy films ie Full Monty, 4 weddings & a funeral, Notting Hill etc
Music is so varied and Julia and I both have our own tastes (which encourages healthy discussion between us)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Its difficult to define ONE amazing thing I have done when there have been so many wonderful experiences from travelling which is my passion - If i have to say one , then that was becoming a father 33 years ago and my wife agrees that we were blessed to have 2 very healthy children who have grown to be wonderful adults.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share abundance of stories of Scottish culture and lifestyle and the amazing country that we live in. From our previous travelling we have many insights into different countries and cultures .....and I certainly can share any good bottle of wine with any host.
