About Me

I have been married to Heike from southern Germany for almost 23 years, we have a daughter, Liesel (9) and a Tibetan Spaniel, Mughiwuli. We have lived in Germany, Phoenix, AZ and Hilton Head Island, SC. We have owned our home in Phoenix since 1999. My wife got her MA at George Washington University and taught at Scottsdale Community for 10 yrs until the birth of our daughter. I have worked in wine retail, wine import/export, fnb management and most recently in the hotel industry for the Westin. I started my own app development business 6 years ago as a hobby. My wife's hobby is a food cultural historian. We love to cook and entertain.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My wife and I want to relocate to Mt. Pleasant, SC and I am actively applying for jobs in wine retail management or f&b management. If I am offered something, I will have to move out ahead until my daughter is done with school and summer camp, before they can join me. I need an affordable option for accomodation until we completely vacate our home in Phoenix and then can list it. I cannot afford to carry the house, support my family and pay for rent in the Charleston area. I have lived and traveled internationally since I was in my early 20s and I have many international friends, some I only met one night, but have remained in touch and have remained friends for over 20 years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I started a quest to stop eating all processed foods, it wasn't easy and I do sometimes cheat, but it usually makes me a little sick. I started a blog for my quest called, eatingright.info, I have about 600 followers which I think is pretty amazing.
