About Me

So, a bit of spiel about me, I'm originally from a small non-entity of a village in the county of Essex, UK. I moved to London to do my undergraduate degree when I was 17, before moving more permanently to the area (after 18 months back in Essex) whilst working in outer London. After a while I craved the academic world again and went to do a PhD in Glasgow, where I lived between Glasgow, Geneva, and Edinburgh over the course of 4 years. I then spent a further year in Glasgow, before moving to the USA for two years, specifically Chicago (although via Austin, TX), where I proceeded to have many life changing experiences, meeting some awesome people through both meetup and couchsurfing events. During these years I've managed to travel vastly to places, like Australia, New Zealand, Japan, North America, Europe, etc and have had a great time doing so.
As like most people on here, I love travelling, seeing new places and meeting new people. I tend to move around the world a lot with my work, so I'm always interested in diving into new cultures and interacting with local people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm mainly on couchsurfing due to meeting some really great people whilst living in Chicago. They recommended it as a good way to meet like minded people when both travelling and living somewhere new, and as a way to do some fun things (also the free accommodation thing kind of piqued my interest). I enjoy meeting and hanging out with new people, so thought I give it a try.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've always enjoyed Terry Pratchett books and any movie that's a comedy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That's a tough one..... skydiving over Byron Bay, Australia, is a particular highlight for me!
