About Me

Hi! My name is Paul. I'm a Dutch student currently doing my master's degree in demographics in Barcelona. Not surprisingly... I love to travel. With a background in Anthropology, I'm interested in getting to know people and their cultures (special interest in Asia). I play piano (and a little bit of accordeon) and enjoy playing music with others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently joined Couchsurfing to have a different travel experience and get to know people from other places while being at home.

Interests

  • traveling
  • playing music
  • listening to music

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a broad taste when it comes to music, ranging from reggae to hard rock. However usually I'm not so interested in top-40 music, and instead preferring music from the 60's and 70's.

When it comes to movies my taste is more specific. Golden Globe winners for the best foreign language film are among my favourites. Nevertheless Goodbye Lenin is by far my favourite movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding a galloping horse on the Mongolian Steppes must be one of the most amazing experiences I had.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're interested in fertility rates, death rates or population numbers, I'll be happy to inform you. Myself I'm interested in history, especially when visiting places.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a social person who can bring Dutch 'gezelligheid', explained on wikipedia as 'general togetherness that gives people a warm feeling'.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, China, Curaçao, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
