About Me

Adventurous, Sociable, Always on the move!

I live near Birmingham and work as a Travel Consultant. Covid made me come home after many years of travelling and living abroad and I’ve kind of settled back in now, but I still get the itch to explore new places and travel as much as I can.

I have a 2 bedroom apartment in Solihull, not far from Birmingham.

If anyone is visiting or new to the area, I am more than happy to go for a coffee or a beer.

PHILOSOPHY

Obviously we are going to die one day so we may as well see and experience as much as we can in the short time we have.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have met lots of amazing people through surfing couches and hanging out when I arrive in new places. Also, my parents have hosted travellers in my room back in England while I have been travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed in Hungary, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, Costa Rica, the US, the Philippines, Thailand, Laos and China. As much as I still love the occasional hostel vibe, I think it is amazing staying with a local or hanging out with them as you get to have the real cultural experience.

Interests

Visiting new places. Experiencing different cultures (I love sitting around a table with a bunch of people speaking a different language and eating food I have never seen before).
Going to watch big sporting events. Learning new languages. Going on skiing holidays. Swimming in the sea in exotic places. Trying different foods, even though I am not the best of cooks, I am good at washing up though!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach - I used to teach English in Ecuador and Colombia, so I can help you out if you want to improve. You will develop a Birmingham accent though 🤣
I am also good at teaching kids how to juggle and solve the Rubik’s Cube, haha.

Learn - I am very interested in learning about different cultures, so a memorable day for me would be to be in a new place with a local who can take me round and show me how the locals do things. I love to sit around the table with a family from the other side of the world and learn about the way they live their lives.

Share - Birmingham is not the best place for sightseeing but I can show you around and attempt to cook 🤣

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lots of stories. I am a good storyteller 😄
