ABOUT ME

A 21 year old Kiwi-American who loves the energy and unpredictability of travel as well as the thrill of meeting new people! I'm upbeat, outgoing, curious and always willing to try new things. I rarely ever turn down an adventure and toe the line between hardcore and reckless. I'm a decent cook, a horrible singer and an awesome taboo player. If we had the chance to hang out and could only bring 3 things, mine would be good food, good drink and bad jokes.

Finally, regarding the instructions for this section: I don't presume to know what my friends would say about me, but I hope they'd say I'm a loyal, considerate, and honest friend who's an enjoyable amount of crazy.

Top 5:

1) Food. At the risk of sounding like an absolute glutton: I'm basically a fat man in a skinny man's body. I'm always hungry and love to try anything and everything at least once.

2) Music. Kasabian, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nero, Jimi Hendrix, The Killers, Modest Mouse, The Naked & Famous, The Postal Service, Sigur Rós, Coldplay, deadmau5, Underworld, The Who, Arcade Fire.

3) Being outdoors. I try to get a good hike in at least once every fortnight and love to put in a few miles biking or kayaking. My snowshoe trip in the Adirondacks every year is the highlight of my winter. There's so much I still want to see (Yosemite, Sequoia, Yellowstone, Zion just to name a few) and I hope I can get out there soon and enjoy it before the real world gets a bit too real.

4) Photography. I've just taken this up so I'm not very good, but I love the marriage between art and science which creates the perfect photograph. Being able to capture a moment of my consciousness and show the world is an extraordinary thing and I hope to become very good at it.

5) Single Malt Scotch Whisky. One of my best friends studied abroad in Scotland and brought back with him an affinity for the lively water. A bit of that's rubbed off on me and I like to try a new dram when I can afford it. I'm particularly fond of the peated Islay whiskys.

1) Bungy jumping off the Kawarau bridge.
2) Whitewater rafting on the New River in West Virginia. (I hope to do the Gauley this year!)
3) Seeing Queenstown for the first time. From the majesty of The Remarkables to the sapphire blue waters of Lake Wakatipu to the dozens of crazy paragliders flying overhead, Queenstown has a certain magic to it and it is my absolute favorite place in the world.
4) Flying over the Grand Canyon (I hope to see it from the ground one day)
5) Seeing Kasabian live at Terminal 5.
