My name is Paula Bigalke and I am 23 years old. I am studying physics in my masters in Aachen, Germany. This year I will take a break to explore the world and to learn a lot about different cultures and of course about me.

I will travel to Nepal and will hopefully stay there for 9 months. I want to get to know the country and the people. I am learning Nepali on my own a bit but it should be easier to learn when talking to native speakers.

I am looking forward to this adventure and hope I will find some very nice and friendly hosts!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing because I am looking for a good way to get to know the real Nepal while travelling, a better way than the typical tourist experience.
I am hoping to meet a lot of nice people who can maybe show and explain me the sides of their country that are not directly accessible to foreigners.

Interests

I am interested in many things. I love to paint, dance, read, play piano, do karate and other sports, meet nice people and just hanging around with them and talk for hours (about random stuff or physics or everything that comes to our minds).

I like to be outside in the nature, hiking, trekking or just watching the view.
Especially, I am interested in things I know nothing about yet. I would love to learn more.

I listen to almost every kind of music. I have no specific direction.
I like fantasy stories but also those that are based on real happenings.

My friends always make fun of me because I don't know many movies, even those they found to be the greatest. But I am enjoying that they are making me watch them ;).
