About Me
Hi there :)
My name is Paula, I’m 27 years old and currently living in Jena, Germany. I first studied communication science and psychology, but eventually decided to follow my true passion: the French language and culture. I’ve been fascinated by both for over ten years now, so I changed my studies to focus on French, with a minor in art history and film studies.
One of my most memorable Couchsurfing experiences was a three-month trip I took with one of my closest friends after graduating from high school. During that time, we visited nearly 30 cities across France, Spain, and Portugal, and had the privilege of being hosted by so many kind and generous people. We laughed together, shared meals, explored new places, and exchanged ideas — these moments are truly unforgettable. I also took over 4,000 photos along the way, as photography is my way of developing a visual language to capture and express the world around me.
I’m deeply inspired by the idea that cultural exchange can make the world a better place — and my travels so far have only strengthened that belief. I love being outdoors, trying new things, and being fully present in the moment. I’d be excited to get to know you, learn more about where you live, and hear your perspective on this shared planet of ours.
Looking forward to connecting!
Warmly,
Paula

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It reminded me that there are always sparks of hope in humanity and in our ability to help, trust, and support one another. Even the smallest gestures, like sharing a meal or having a deep discussion, can make a difference—just as much as the bigger acts, like offering a safe place to stay.

Teach, Learn, Share
I’m quite adaptable to my surroundings, whether it calls for outgoing communication or a quieter, more introspective approach. I’m always happy to lend a hand—whether it’s preparing meals, watching the kids, watering the plants, or taking on bigger tasks, especially when out in the countryside.
Plus, we can chat in three different languages (and I’m learning Spanish as a fourth) about anything that comes to mind.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Sharing meals and engaging in long conversations is something I truly enjoy. Creating art together, whether through drawing or photo walks, is another passion. There’s also great joy in biking through the city or nature, uncovering bookshops, coffee spots, dreamy forests, and mystical-looking trees along the way.
