ABOUT ME

Lifelong learner, having twice returned to post secondary education after my first degree. Enjoy experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. Began community volunteer work when my children reached their teen years, now working with my neighbourhood association and my local tennis club.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not tried couchsurfing, but a friend's son has had positive experiences with it.

Interessen

I got hooked on tennis and play at every opportunity (when there is no snow on the ground; we don't have indoor tennis here in Kingston), working on improving my game. I do strength training to keep fit for tennis. It's a sport that is social, physically challenging, and is played outdoors in warm, sunny weather. I joined my local community tennis club four years ago and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere so much that I joined the club's volunteer board at the end of my first season, and I'm still on it.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I like most music. Haven't seen many movies or read books that aren't related to academia or tennis lately!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I had many amazing experiences when backpacking around the world in my 20s on a two-year trip. I particularly enjoyed trekking in the Himalayas.

I recently received my certification as a tennis instructor, which will help in my volunteer activities.

I have an easygoing nature, am a clean and tidy person, and willing to help out wherever needed. I have travelled around the world and have lived in several countries, and have many life experiences to share.
