About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding a job in Barcelona!

ABOUT ME

Hey! I'm Pauline, Dutch, I just moved to Barcelona. I recently finished my Master's degree in French in Groningen, The Netherlands. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world, I have been active in the international student network in my city (great experiences, like learning Chinese and cooking Turkish dishes) and studied a semester in Montpellier, France. My interests are travelling, languages, film, art, music, and food :)

I surfed a couple of couches in France, Spain and Portugal and I only have good memories! Once we're settled in here our couch will be offered too :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a member since a few years now and had some really great experiences with couchsurfing.

Summer 2011: my boyfriend and I went couchsurfing in Sevilla, Lisbon and Porto, and it was.... AMAZING! Chris and I discovered a whole new way of travelling, and we will definitely do it again.

Update #2: Last summer (2012) we went couchsurfing again, in Antibes (France) (we couldn't find a host for another city we visited). Another great experience! Incredibly nice hosts, we had a lot of fun.

(for references see Chris' profile)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From being Erasmus for 4 days in bloody hot Sevilla to exploring the surroundings of Lisbon, being introduced to Portuguese food and culture, eating tourte de blette (weird!) in Nice, and Porto.. which was a whole different story. Great experiences, a wonderful way of getting to know a city and its people, of being welcomed by strangers, actually, and immediately feeling home.

Interests

Languages (I'm definitely a language freak), cultures, travel, food, photography, film (especially French and Spanish), blogs (addicted to them; recently started my own), art & music in general...

Teach, Learn, Share

What I could teach:
Dutch
French

I'd definitely be up for a language exchange here in Barcelona (Spanish, which I really need to learn, or French, I always like to improve my conversational skills).
