Just because you're alive doesn't mean you're living. With that said, I'm going to start living a life full of passion and freedom.

ABOUT ME

I am twenty two years old, and I've lived in NYC my entire life. I know the City as if it were the back of my hand, I know where to go and how to get around, though honestly, I'd like a change in scenery. I want to travel all over Europe as soon as 2012 hits, and I want to meet as many people as I can, have as much fun as I can, and I want to gain the wisdom, experience and independence you can only gain by traveling through unfamiliar territory. Though, for my journey to be successful, I must rely on the kindness of strangers, but I can assure that the kindness shown to me does not go unreciprocated.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm young, and I entered the real world upon graduating from college so I've yet to learn a lot. Though, I know enough to say that a life without community is not a life. Therefore, meeting new people, listening and learning from what they have to say has been a focus of my life. I want to create a real human network with experiences I can be proud of - one that does not exist only in the realm of Facebook.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will be traveling all over Europe very soon, therefore I'm more interested in participating as a most grateful and unimposing couch surfer/guest. Meanwhile though, I'd be very glad to provide a most fun, unique and cheap/free experience around New York City because I know it so well.

I have no couch surfing experience at all, but I hope to change that soon enough.

Intereses

I have not traveled much around the world, if at all. However, I dare say that it is a passion of mine. I want to travel all over the world. I love music, and I'll listen to anything from around the world. I do not play musical instruments, but I hope to learn to play one in my travels.

Música, películas y libros

I love and appreciate music above anything else. I love to listen to the Beatles, as well as Bob Dylan,Bob Marley, Nirvana, the Smashing Pumpkins, Billie Holiday, and Chet Baker. My iPhone is full of classic rock, and some of my friends tell me that I was born in the wrong era, but I also love to listen to world music, whose artists include Fela Kuti, Los Amigos Invisibles, Aterciopelados, and Soda Stereo.

My favorite movie changes all the time. It used to be The Godfather Part II, and then it became the Italian movie Rocco and his Brothers. I have come to appreciate Italian cinema, but I know a lot good movies I can recommend to anyone.

I read a lot of books - I am often seen with a book in my hand or pocket. Among my favorites are Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind, and Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood.

Frankly, the most amazing thing I've ever done in my life was being in love. It did not last, and some heartbreak persists, but I have no regrets. It was the most amazing thing I've ever done in my life.

I strongly believe in give and return. At the moment, I feel more as a student than a teacher. That is a major part of reason why I want to travel, I want to learn about the differing perspectives people have around the world. Regardless, I am a writer, and I hope to at least provide a unique insight to anyone who is interested. It's not much, but I am also an expert in movies, and can share many recommendations from many genres. Otherwise, I'd be happy to help in any way I can.
