About Me

A cynical in recovery. I'm usually not very talkative, but I'm a great listener. My parents are both shrinks, so I guess it's in my blood?

I'm surfing & hosting with my partner Roger, you can check his profile (which has more reviews) here: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/roger-figuerola

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be doing a trip with my partner around Europe and South America sarting May 2017, mostly through Workaway (a site in which you exchange hours of voluntary work for accommodation and meals), but there are some places we'd like to visit where we haven't found this sort of arrangements. Thus we might end up couchsurfing, as this would be a great way to get to know new ways of life and people (which is one of our main goals for the journey).

Interests

One of the things that interest me the most is languages: learning, teaching, talking about them (so meta).

I also enjoy creative activities like drawing, crafting stuff (specially when it's from scavenged treasures in the trash), painting, woodcarving, etc.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really like teaching Spanish and English (I've actually worked as a teacher). I could teach you the basics of Japanese as well.

Most of my artistic "abilities" are self-taught, but I can teach you how to make some origami figures and Japanese bookbinding with office supplies.

Anything you'd like to teach me is welcome: even if it ends up not being of use/not that interesting for me, it's always great to interact with someone that's passionate about what they're talking about.
