About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Still building the foundations of something that hopefully will arise.

ABOUT ME

My best friends are also my best critics, so they would say that I am faithful but also stubborn, distant and turn rapidly close, methodical and dreamy, critical and then too allusive, melacholical but still ironical, with sense of humor but sometimes too shy. I really admire direct persons but think that fascination for others comes also from unspoken words, from mystery and sometimes from contradictions. I prefer to discover people in long periods of time and am amazed how they always grow and change, and still remain the same.

PHILOSOPHY

All we do is to occupy our time to forget our only certain thing in life: our death. Still, there is fantasy and this happens when we completely forget this imminent end.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to both host and be hosted. For the moment I do not have a fix location to stay, but would want to host if I had one. For now I can only be a partner for a dialogue.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did a 6 month internship in Flachau, Austria and my roommate proposed me to house Mat from Holland. I did not raelly know what to expect exactly. It was my first and only experience until now and I enjoyed it. We ate together and then we went skiing. As a beginner it was very helpful to have some ski tips from Mat. Now that I'm going to have another internship, this time in Rotterdam, I would want to couchsurf until I find an apartment. Since I do a big change, of country and place to live, I think that I would better adapt by knowing someone already living in Rotterdam.

Interests

I like long walks and night discussions, listening to jazz and progressive rock, cycling in the countryside, playing chess, reading literature. I have studied architecture, so usually I travel in cities to experience spaces and architecture. This is both relaxing and part of my learning process.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It was in my childhood and we were two, let's say rival gangs, even it was more about playing then real fighting, and it was around Christmas and it was heavily snowing for over a week. We start fighting first with snow balls but at some point this started to be too common. At some point we decided to build an igloo and then the war stopped. We agreed to build it together, maybe we were 20 children participating. We build it on a wooden frame of a swing. Before every night we had to wet the snow to build on top of it next day. At the end we finished the igloo and stayed went in. It was cold but in the same time the coziest and most protected place I ever been. In the end with the leftovers of the Christmas trees found around we did a big fire outside the igloo. Naturally after the winter ended and the igloo melted the war restarted.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching is a long term process and needs a well defined subject, lot of patience and at least two enthusiast people that want to learn and discover. Teaching is also about empathy and trust and this is very hard to acquire. I can understand couchsurfing as a mean to meet people that seem interesting to you, and then, through dialogue, better understand the place you are visiting. Teaching though, is maybe exaggerate to say in this case.
