About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel far and wide (mentally as well as physically) and convert 'So, this is it?...' into 'This is it!'

ABOUT ME

One fine sundrenched (but by no means extraordinary) summers afternoon, a child was born in the midst of a city warmly known as 'Brum' (in the heart of England - as sold by the tourist board!) >>FAST_FORWARD>> and here I am now living in London after various detours... (I'll leave you to fill in the middle - be imaginative! :)

PHILOSOPHY

Where do I start, lets save this for over a coffee!  I'm just trying to enjoy the journey!  Living life as much in the present as I can, being mindful.  Learning from the past but not projecting it into the future.  It is what it is; allowing things to be as they are - but not to the detriment of creative potential.  Remembering to live with passion; to smile; to hug; to laugh; to do not just talk; have fun; reflect; be patient; be unreasonable; act with integrity; breathe...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I made a profile... a good place to start?!Have surfed before but yet to gain consensus with my flatmates to host, hopefully soon! Have been to a local CS gathering.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed with a couple of fab people overseas who have restored my faith in the fabulous randomness of humanity.  Met another for a coffee in my hometown which was very refreshing!

Interests

Drawing and sketching architecture, I like to get lost in cities with my sketchbook and a 2B... climb rocks and boulders or just an indoor wall will do... talk to people wherever I find myself!... I take part in improvised theatre, plucking narrative from out of thin air... live music, listening, (trying!) to play guitar, playing the tabla (classical north indian drums)... finding the perfect espresso...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered with Architecture Sans Frontiers in Salvador, Brazil. It was amazing to experience the determination of the local grass roots movement campaigning to gain land rights and build their own community in the place of formerly squatted lands.  We designed a framework to enable self building, effectively co-creating with the inhabitants.  Participation in design, as a reality!
