I am on my second year studying physics at the Saint Petersburg State University. My current claim is to become a good theoretical physisist.

There are two ways to get closer to the wonders of nature: the way of science and the way of art. I prefer to choose them both. But as I am not gifted in music or painting, I still can enjoy it and feel complicity and comprehension.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my last trip I understood that just sightseeing is not what I want about traveling. I feel like becoming a local of the place I've come to. I wish to know how the people in other countries actually lives.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music -- from dark folk to stoner, from Bach and Ravel to Bob Dylan and Bowie, from chineese or indegenous authentic music to Brian Eno and White Stripes. Also I love jazz (from Charlie Parker to Mathias Eick).

Movies. As I said before the movies is my true passion. I've recently watched my thousandth film. My favourite directors are Krzysztof Kieslowski, Jim Jarmusch, Stanley Kubrick, Andrey Tarkovski, Wim Wenders and Woody Allen.

Concerning books I love Cortazar, Nabokov, Fowles, London. My favourite author, I guess, is Hermann Hesse.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you some basics about mathematics and physics, but I'm only on my second year. So I can't explain to you, for example, quantum mechanics or complex analysis, because I have not learned it yet. But I will be greatful if you'll tell me something about it.

I am really looking foward to practising my English, so I'd appeciate if you'd correct my mistakes.
