Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently doing a Euro trip, so I'm surfing at the moment, but I looked forward to hosting when I get back to the states.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My Couchsurfing experience is very limited. I have only Coushsurfed in Berlin, but it was one of the most pleasant experiences of my life. After getting to talking with my host, we skipped right to the juicy stuff. We talked about what we have learned to be true, where we've traveled, where we'd like to go. And it was kind of magical meeting someone who you'd never known before and feeling so connected, more connected than some of my relationships with people I have known for years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The one experience I want to have before I die is to fall in love. And I felt like this was a kind of impossibility for a very long time because I had never seen the kind of love I imagined for myself... until I went to Germany. I was staying at house I found on work-away and I met a young man who was staying for a week while his fiance was in the UK for a conference. They were both from Spain and had met while studying classical music at university. Together they founded an image consulting company for classical musicians, which mostly done over the web, giving them the freedom to work on the road. They owned a minivan, which they drove all over Europe having adventures together. At the close of the week he needed to leave because his finace was flying back to Berlin. I caught a ride with him and a friend to Berlin. We asked where he was going next and he told us he had no idea where he'd be sleeping tonight! Everything in his life was spontaneous. The only thing he knew was that he and his fiance would be getting married next week in Denmark.
