About Me

Most people would describe me as friendly and easy to get along with, and I can come across as pretty laid back and carefree, but I also have an intense side related to my beliefs and I enjoy talking about deep metaphysical issues like, "what is the nature of time?" and "how should we define subjectivity?" I read broadly but I am now interested in exploring spirituality more and making art and creativity more of a party of my daily life. I am kind-hearted but can become disappointed when the world seems so cruel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing again after neglecting it for some time because I would like to be involved in the community as someone who can actively share and get to know people from around the world. I hope to travel some in the near future and would like to avoid the anonymity of corporate hotels and the chaos of (some) youth hostels.

Interests

My interests are very broad but I prefer the arts and humanities most of all. I like reading philosophy and literature. I am interested in historical progress and current events. I am an artist, and by that I mean I draw. I also like to bike for long distances while camping along the way. I am learning to play the guitar. I am learning German. I have studied both Spanish and Russian and would like to improve in both.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have too many to list! But I would say that I love Russian and Japanese literature, as well as American Southern Gothic. I like Italian neorealist as well as German new wave film. American blockbusters can be entertaining as well; I most like the sci-fi variety. And for music I am interested in a lot of different kinds, but have been drifting towards more contemplative stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived. Honestly, there have been so many amazing things that have happened it my life it wouldn't be fair to name a single one.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know something about bikes. I know a fair amount about history, philosophy, and film. I make excellent cocktails.
