quit my job of 10 years to travel the world. hoping to see some beautiful places, meet cool people and have fun experiences.

ABOUT ME

My name is Tom and I lived in Portland more than 10 years before quitting my job to travel again. I've been fortunate enough to do quite a bit of traveling already. Four rtw trips and more than 100 countries. More to see and do!

I enjoy showing people around Portland - the hipster bars, good restaurants, food carts, hiking, scenic areas, etc...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

having traveled quite a few places, it's invaluable to have the help of a local. i'd like to be able to help people traveling to my city. hoping to find locals in other cities to host me or show me around their city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started hosting travelers in May 2014. It's been a fun experience so far. On my last trip to Europe I couchsurfed and had locals in various cities show me around.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

In the fall of 2017, a friend and I did a thing we called "drop pin". Friends voted for where I would go and I didn't find out where until I got to the airport. It turned out to be Namibia - 39 hours of flights and layovers there, 50 hours to get back! Once in Namibia it was great, but getting there and back was too much.
