From rock climbing to martial arts, backpacking to sign language, expression through movement has been intrinsic to my life from a very early age.

I grew up in the rolling hills of northern California, USA but found a second home when I moved to Squamish, BC, Canada for college. I study social psychology with an emphasis on diversity and cross-cultural communication and wrote my bachelors thesis on how picture books impact how children see the world.

When not focusing on academics, I love the dynamic relationship that comes with progression within new types of movement, so I have continued pursuing social dancing (such as swing, or lindy hop) since I was 12, rock climbing, hiking, and skiing to fulfill these loves. Getting to meet people with vastly different backgrounds and meeting people from around the world is one of the things I love most about the communities I find social dancing, rock climbing, and travelling.

When my legs aren’t twitching to big band rhythms, I can be found surrounded by my friends in the midst of high alpine places, knitting under a cozy blanket, humming along to melancholy songs, cooking elaborately tasty meals, and falling asleep whenever possible.

In the past, I have visited places and stayed in hotels and Airbnbs, and I feel that I did not get a sense of the true experience of being in that place, so I am on on Couchsurfing to connect with people in the places I travel and gain a more authentic experience of their culture.

I LOVE podcasts! Hidden Brain, Ted Radio Hour, Ear Hustle, Code Switch, are just a few.

I've been devoting much of my time reading academically lately; bell hooks and Kimberlé Crenshaw to name a few authors/ academics.
