About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To idly chase the adventure in a cape

ABOUT ME

Cloud ponderer
Word collector
goat admirer
uncertain poet...
it always comes out sounding all distorted and feeds others expectations. Welcome me with none and I shall suprise you.

PHILOSOPHY

Stay gold.

If life has no meaning we best experience as much pleasure as possible. bloody hedonist. being idle is something to be celebrated too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By showing hospitality in this global community with always a bed, a cuppa and company for friends on the road.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Informal passing-on-of-addresses kind of stuff as i rode my way down the netherlands. got to experience that classic traveller's empathy and hospitality. i guess it's where CS all began. When i returned from europe i had many people stay with me, some i'd just met in a cafe others interstate and some had shown me the same welcoming spirit in their homes overseas.

Interests

wow. i like eggplants, books, family, friends, (yes these are the two obligatory 'interests' i suspect)camping, camp fires, the sea, swimming, festivals, watermelon, the rain, clouds, bicycles, music, cooking, protests, sustainability, permaculture, learning, gardening, reading, poetry, adventures, equalism, other isms, making things, making bread! (sourdough from scratch) and i really like those those little pictures of scissors which punctuate a dotted line and indicate where to cut it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Quite film-illiterate but ready to be enlightened.
Music is good if it makes you dance, sing, think, cry, feel. I have beed fed on a diet of old (Bob Dylan, The Doors, the Beatles, The Stones, old delta blues, bob marley) new (this year i've been listening to iron and wine, sufjan stevens) and somewhere in between. I truly enjoy watching people make music and anticpate picking up an instrument again.
Books are my favourite thing in the world. at the moment i am reading Schotts Food and Drink Miscellany, Buzzed, The Cloudspotters Guide, To the Lighthouse, ginsberg, eliot, whitman and a wall of others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the week just past I have:
Swam in an old quarry at dusk
Rolled about 500 giant spring rolls
Danced like a madman
Slept inside a doona
Watched the sun come up (twice)
Done an inverse rain dance, then a sun dance, then a backwards hot fish dance
Lived completely in a moment
(All this counts as one amazing thing according to my current measuring of time)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook up some tasty beans.
I can listen rather well.
I will share with you my story if you tell me one too.
