ABOUT ME

More about me? Well, I'm a terrible geek - photos, science, films, book, music, and PEOPLE. I love the sea, I love light, I love meeting new people and being spontaneous. Cake in the park, rolling down steep grassy hills, making shapes in the sand.

I've lived in Glasgow for the most important part of my life and in my opinion there is no-where like it! If you're heading there before I return (i.e. September 2007), drop me a line and I'll let you know what I consider the best things to do :)

PHILOSOPHY

Never Say Never. I figure, if it's worth saying, say it... if it's worth doing, do it. After all, you can only regret what you haven't done, and there's always still time to get those things done.

Hunter S Thompson, Terry Gilliam, Mogwai - the Big Three. I love any music which makes me smile (listening to the Beastie Boys and Deerhoof as I type this). last film that really got me was possibly Half Nelson - I almost thought it was going to be rubbish and pointless but then it turned out to be rather wonderful. Last album I fell in love with? Florida by Diplo - 1994 album I wish I'd heard sooner... perfect music for late at night when you don't want to sleep but you just want to melt into what you are hearing. Last book? Catch 22... should have read it a long time ago as it's so utterly perfect.

Swam in the Thai sea at midnight and experienced phosphorescence - it was like being a magician! Sparks shooting out of your fingers and toes as you swim!

I make pinhole cameras. :) I think that's possibly the only real skill I have that is worth sharing! Tho I'll happily talk to you for hours about the finer points of volume transmission and other marvellous neuroscience-y things... ALSO I make falafel and cake like they're going out of style - if you're lucky I'll make some for you!
