About Me

I'm in my early twenties, fresh out of college, and I'm just coming off teaching English in Chile for three months. I've spent most of my life in California, but the world is a terrific place, and as long as I'm lucky enough to be living it I figure I might as well get out and explore it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm always looking for a good chat, whether it's while hiking on a muddy mountain trail or with an elbow leaned up on a wooden bar top. Couchsurfing seems like a great way to meet friendly people in cool places. There's nothing like getting to know a new city, town, or country with a friendly local at your side!

Interests

I like swimming, running, surfing, hiking, reading, writing, cooking, eating, and talking, talking, talking :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I dig anything from Norah Jones to Rage Against the Machine. I'm pretty in to Classic Rock, 90s/early 2000s hip hop, and alternative rock.

Movies: Big Fish, American Beauty, Birdman, anything by the Coen Brothers, Biutiful.

Books: The Power of One, Infinite Jest, The Catcher in the Rye, The Orphan Master's Son

Teach, Learn, Share

I've got a lot of teaching experience--middle school tutoring in California and teaching high school English in Chile! I've also got a decent amount of experience as a copy editor (in English) and a bit of translation experience as well (Spanish-English).

My Spanish is good, but it can always get better! I love practicing it when I get a chance. Also, very much looking to start learning French and/or Portuguese!

I also love cooking, so I'm happy to help out or cook a few meals if you're cool with that! Vegetarians are cool with me too :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Drinks, tales from Gringolandia, long conversations, warm laughs, smiles and hugs, and maybe a bit of local currency as well.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In
