About Me

I'm a Portuguese guy living in Shanghai. It's far away from home but the opportunities appeared and I'm glad I took them.
I'm a teacher and I spend my days making science classes and shooting videos in front of a green screen. People keep having kids and sending them to school, so then I have to teach them that science is cool and whatnot. Occasionally I stop to eat some food, hang out with friends and do some traveling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My girlfriend started using Couchsurfing some time ago, and I've hosted people on her behalf. I met nice folks and had great conversations, so I'd be happy to be part of this system.

Interests

I really enjoy being a foreigner in a foreign place. Given that Portugal is neither too big nor too influential I often get to enjoy some prejudice-free anonymity as I explore China and other places around it.
I like to see places for what they really are. That includes the touristic highlights, of course, but also the everyday things that build the character of the place. If I can, I'd love to take my time to explore a city, even taking some slow days to sit in a park or coffee shop and read.
I may not seem like it, but I'm super funny.

Teach, Learn, Share

I suppose I can share all my info about Portugal and why it's worth visiting. Same goes for China. We can talk about the ethical implications of gene editing technologies like CRISPR or anything like that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A standing offer to host them in my guest room in Shanghai. Plus some nice souvenirs from my home town.
I'd like to talk and share opinions and experiences, too!
