About Me

*** Check the "My Home" section for details on where you are going to stay! This is definitely NOT a luxury place ***

CURRENT MISSION
Get to know the whole world. Every life is a story.

ABOUT ME
Software Engineer. Snowboard instructor. Climbing buddy. Rock band leader. Classical orchestra member.

I'm very curious about what I don't know or haven't experienced yet.
I like to be in weird situations. That's what makes life memorable.
I'm all for respect. I won't ever do anything to make anyone uncomfortable.

I was born in Leiria, studied in Lisbon, working in Switzerland as a software engineer (coding/programming).

Apart from the digital world, I also play the violin and guitar ever since I was young. Music is definitely my biggest passion. I like to participate in jams, to improvise with violin or guitar, and do some very basic singing. Anything with music - I'm in! I like all genres, from classical music to death metal. Except reggaeton 😛

Aside from work and music, I also love nature and sports. Being in Switzerland helped me develop my love for mountains, trekking, climbing and snowboarding. But i mostly do anything that keeps me active.

PHILOSOPHY

Respect yourself and the others. I believe mutual respect would make the world a much better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe sharing is one of the most important things nowadays. Why not trade a couch for a new story?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I registered in CS in June 2014, when I was finishing my Erasmus in Vienna. After that, I started a 30-day interrail trip where I was hosted several times.

Later, when I moved to Geneva, I hosted a few people that were trying to move in, since getting a place there is a hellish process.

Then I went on a South America solo trip where I was hosted a few times. Met wonderful people. Some of them really changed my life.

Recently I finished my Southeast Asia solo trip for 8 months. Loved it. So many wonderful places, so many interesting people.

Now, I'm snowboarding in the french/swiss Alps and I plan to go back to work very soon, and I plan to get my own place and open it to couchsurfers.

So far, from all the hosts and surfers, I never had a single bad experience.

Interests

As a good listener, I enjoy pretty much everything. Sports, Politics, Travelling, Languages, History, but mostly Music, Technology and Science.

I love hiking. Nature, waterfalls, animals, trees, everything. This is actually one of the reasons for living in Swizerland.

I like having conversations about anything. I enjoy music, be it listening, playing or singing. Not a very good dancer (awful, really).
I would much rather go to a chill place, talk and laugh over going to a disco all night long.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: ALL OF IT. I mean it. From classical music to death metal. I don't care. Just PLEASE no reggaeton. My favorite genre is prog rock and my favorite band varies from mood to mood, but if I had to name one, that'd be Explosions In The Sky.

Books: The Perks of Being a Wallflower - my absolute favorite. Aside from that one, I can say the rest of my top 5 are Sapiens, 1984, The Devil and Miss Prym, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, in no particular order. My "want to read" list is pretty big already, I but there's always space for one more!

Movies: Unending list. But i'd point out Good Will Hunting.
TV Series: Unending list. too many. But I'll just go with my top 3: Utopia (UK 2018), Breaking Bad, Mare of Easttown.
