About Me

I'm a 22 year old Portuguese student and I'm currently doing Erasmus in Potsdam, Germany.

I'm from a small town in Portugal but quite close to Lisbon. I consider myself an observer of the natural world: I like to spend my time wandering around the nature near where I live, from the fresh lakes and fields to the calm and serene beaches. I always like to bring with me either a good book to read or some art material to draw or paint; it depends on my mood. Living in the countryside also provided me the opportunity to learn how to be a horse rider.

The fact that I was raised in a small town, never stopped me from dreaming and wanting to see and explore the world. Traveling might be one of my favorite things to do; the idea of getting to know new people and cultures really amazes me.

Time with friends and family is always quality time and time well spent. I really enjoy doing simple things with my family like going for dinner or having a movie night. With my friends I'm not really picky about what we do: just spending time together laughing is nice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been living in Germany for a year as part of the Erasmus study program but I have not yet had the chance to really explore the country. So before I go back home at the end of August, my boyfriend and I are planning to travel and see as much of Germany as possible. Couchsurfing seems to be an amazing opportunity to get to know new places and people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I would say I have a wide musical taste. Apart from heavy metal and country music, I enjoy the big majority of music styles. If I had to pick up my 3 favorite artists, would be Arctic Monkeys, Jungle, and Arlo Parks.

Regarding movies, once again I'm not very picky. Scary movies are not particularly my favorite but I really enjoy a good action movie or a good comedy. As the same as with music, the right movie for the right mood.

I do love a really good book, no matter its style. Dan Brown is my favorite author.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far, doing my Erasmus in Germany has been one of the best challenges and interesting experiences I've ever had. Living alone for the first time in a new country has been quite challenging and it hasn't always been easy. However, the amount of positives is overwhelmingly bigger. Being surrounded by such an array of opportunities, new and unique cultures, and people with different experiences of the world has been so exciting.

Teach, Learn, Share

If there is time for it, would love to hear more about the best places and things to do in the city.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I'll be Backpacking mainly around Germany, I hope to have amazing stories and adventures to tell and share with the hosts. If there is a place to cook and the will to try, I would be more than happy to cook some typical and tasty Portuguese dishes. Also, if there is the need to do simple tasks in the accommodation, we would not mind giving a hand to the kind host.
