À propos de moi

I'm a Brazilian medicine student, but I swear I'm a nice guy. I'm one of those 22 year olds that think they're just everything that's cool in the universe, and I'm pretty aware that I'm not. Right now, I'm living in Montréal, QC, Canada, doing a 4-month internship in a Psychiatric hospital (again: I swear I'm nice!). I'm funny and sarcastic in the right dose, I'd say (that, for me, is as much as possible), but people told me I'm sweet. I trust their judgement better than mine.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Well, a year abroad is supposed to make you open your eyes to the world. I'm very much looking forward to see as much as I can that people can show me - Canada is amazing for that, with all this diversity and cultures and novelties and different thinking.

Centres d'intérêt

I'd say I'm eclectic. I like reading (although I'll be honest and say that I haven't read that much lately) and watching TV (same here), but I'm a boxing and soccer afficionado as well. I play the drums and the guitar. I'm pretty crazy about Psychiatry and I'm starting to develop the same love for Philosophy and Psychology. I love tattoos and have two of them.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Anything with a good drummer will grab my attention. I'd say Led Zeppelin and The Who are the most important bands in my life, but Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan have changed how I see it, as well as human relationships. If anyone ever reads this, I'd like to say I'm a Blues Pills fan - seriously, look it up.

I'm guilty of having nostalgic fond memories on Indie and Punk and Metal. Brazilian music is also a go-to.

When I started learning french, my teacher told me to go after francophone music, then I got to know Alexis HK, Tryo, Fred Pellerin, Zaz, Alain Souchon, Renaud... and Stromae, who I honestly think is the greatest (and possibly only) poet of electro music ever.

I like jazz and 70's funk as well. And a very good friend just made me this awesome hip-hop playlist, so I appreciate it too.

I'd like to get to know more about movies, I'm just not very good with them. Of what I've seen, I like Godard and Tarantino and Kubrick.

As for books, I've read a lot of fiction (I like to think so, at least). From Harry Potter and George R.R. Martin to Sartre and Camus. My favorite author is Nikolai Gogol, who's the main influence of my favorite Brazilian writer, Machado de Assis.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I've mastered the Bob Dylan impression. It's like I'm the bard himself - and I have the crazy hair to go along.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Well, if you're up for it, I can talk a lot about Psychiatry and Medicine. I can give some half-wise half-passionate discourses on A Song of Ice and Fire and TV shows. Life experiences can teach as much as textbook, so I'm very open to listening. Again, they told me I'm a good listener and I sure hope so.
