ABOUT ME

mother of 3 young adult couch surfers, devoted to community and sustainability. practice yoga and pranayama daily. making, upcycling, foraging for health of self and planet. substance-free daily living. in bed by 11 and rise early for yoga practice. teaching iyengar yoga since 2001, and bringing it to communities as a sacred practice. live gift economy/gift culture. teach creative writing workshops combined with yoga and other art forms. ukulele fanatic, songwriter, poet.

PHILOSOPHY

how do we subvert the dominant paradigm without replicating it? how do we decentralize power and promote power-with instead of power-over? lay down the tower, make it accessible to everyone. live on the periphery more and more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

regular trips to india to study with the amazing iyengar family in pune.

Teach, Learn, Share

in addition to teaching iyengar yoga, i teach classes at alverno college in "repairing racial harm" and "healing collective trauma." drum circles, ukulele jams, songwriting and singing. anything to do with food and health.
