Heyyy!

I am Pelle, a Dutch student traveling around the world with my liberal arts and sciences university (called Minerva). The past 2 years I lived in San Francisco, Seoul, and briefly in Berlin. Currently I am taking a gap year from my studies, working as a tutor of biology, doing youth climate justice work with some Dutch NGOs, and traveling whenever I can (as sustainable as possible)! I study political and environmental sciences, and love to have conversations about all kinds of things :D

I love to hike or bike, I like reading, playing the piano, and enjoy cooking (my specialty is pasta!)

I think meeting new people from different places has always been one of the most fun things! Traveling on a student-budget, couchsurfing seems like a great way to both save money, meet people, and experience the places I travel to from the perspective of someone living there :D.

Music: I love mostly indie/folk/rock/pop music, my favourite artist is Michael Kiwanuka, his song Cold Little Heart is breathtaking

Movies: I love Bong Joon-ho and his movies Parasite and Okja. Studio Ghibli is my next favourite, Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke specifically are great!

I looove learning about the world and an absolute fact-hoarder. From history facts to biology facts, art stuff or philosophy, geography and politics, if something interests me I'll likely remember and I love to share my quirky facts.

I like getting to know people and asking them lots of questions to understand their perspectives. Every person will have something interesting to share!

Besides, I like to cook for others!

I know some Dutch card games, I love to share my stories and experiences studying in different countries, and like I mentioned, love to cook for others :D. I don't ask much, am very flexible!
