About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To set off psychic detonations that negate Control.

ABOUT ME

I am a Belgrade based accountant and a music nerd. In any given moment, there are several music related hobbies that sort of threaten to take over my life.

The first and most important of these is my research into do-it-yourself experimental music in former Yugoslavia and Eastern Europe. I (try to) research, study and curate marginal music practices pertaining the so called 'low culture' - an area of art which has been traditionally neglected by art historians and musicologists. The second big hobby of mine is the gig I have at a local culture NGO, where I work as an music editor and often pitch discussions about experimental music or have guest lecturers that present their own research. The third hobby project I work on is my digital collection of cassette experimentalism from all around the world, hopefully to be presented one day in a form of an online archive.

Besides all sorts of music, I'm into all sorts of film, contemporary art and generally a wide array of social disciplines and studies (critical theory ! basically, I'm a humanities guy, when I come to think of it). Also super keen on immersive technologies and gaming (whether it is virtual traveling & researching some remote super-particular destinations through Google Earth or exploring, say, the wilderness of Skyrim), so I always appreciate any tips in these directions. Last but not least, I'm an avid sports fan - football and basketball primarily - albeit on an highly irregular basis. However, there are some teams capable of eating my liver out.

I don't write or read poetry, but I've grown to read & appreciate intricate personal poetics - the sort of expanded-sense poetry sometimes hidden in individuals' specific ways of doing things or talking or their attentiveness towards details or other personal idiosyncrasies. And in this sense the idea of autopoiesis or humans as self-generating poetic machines is totally fascinating to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's super unfair to sum it up like this but in a nutshell old-school industrial / cassette experimentalism and all sorts of analogue electronic music form the basis of my interests but i'm also into all sorts of post punk, new wave, dub, reggae and folk music (Moroccan Sufi trance music, Amazigh Tamawyt and Ahidus styles - I am a sucker for pretty much anything Moroccan, Ethiopian sacral music, Persian classical music, lots of Balkan music styles with a special emphasize on Hungarian Táncház and Albanian iso-polyphonic music).
