Meet nice folk, traverse continents, and not sleep!
Everything significant in my life seems to take place near a body of water. So I approach it with caution and intrigue.
I've lived in:
Austin, Tx - for five incredible years - the only city in Texas worthy of a star on the map.
Reykjavik, Iceland - for three beautiful summer-months seeing mountains, waterfalls, and lovely islanders.
Brooklyn, NY - learning the finer details of artful struggle and the splendors of hustle. - 2011
Berlin, Germany - Just moved here to see the sights and sounds
I've worked -
At the moment I do event production and technology. One of my favorite jobs was as community liaison for non-profit Austin Art and Music Partnership (AAMP) which providedspace for artists, musicians, and community workshops.
Hit me up if you're interested in music, arts, traveling, etc! I love to play host and tour guide.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Spreadin' the good word. Hosting. Wandering.
Hosted 200+ guests, sometimes up to 20 simultaneously (during Austin's Sxsw).
Been hosted by some of my all-time-favorite people in Mexico, Iceland, Sweden, and the States.
I like to travel, dance, cook, and sing.
Also game for a nice sit by the water or the occasional potluck.
Personal motto: Some eat to live, I live to eat.
Music, Movies, and Books
All time favorites: Rushmore, Big Lebowski, Back to the Future, Block Party, Ran, Dancer in the Dark, Black Dynamite...
Music: Nina Simone, Beachhouse, Arthur Russell, Sigur Ros, Animal Collective, Bjork, Tropicalia, Caetano Veloso, Radiohead, Cafe Tacvba, Dirty Projectors, Modeselektor...
Reading: Moby Dick, Catch 22, Sex at Dawn...
Favorite books: Don Delillo's Underworld, Herman Hesse's Steppenwolf, William McDonough's Cradle to Cradle., Voltair's Candid, and anything Kafka.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in Iceland, traveling through the fjords to see the northern lights.
Road tripped from Niagra Falls to Austin, Tx.
Walked above the clouds in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Robbed on my first night in New York and still made it out alive. Hitchhiked to pyramids in Mexico City.
Toured the east-coast and slept on the western hemisphere's oldest beach.
18-wheelers roll over.
Lightning strike industrial complexes.
A man jump off an arched bridge.
The best bands in the world (recently: Bjork, Radiohead, Dirty Projectors, Os Mutantes, Deerhoof in a dive-bar).
Teach, Learn, Share
We have an infinite amount of music and much local salsa on tap. Let's dip. Can show you how to break it down, beat box in the street, sing in abandoned echo chambers, clap to the pulse of the space time continuum.
