Alright folks. My name is Etienne and I'm a German student at the university of Oldenburg. For my studies in French I need to spend a semester abroad and I'll study at the Université de Montréal for 4 months.
Although I have a nice shared apartment, I would be pleased to meet other surfers from all over the world! It would be a particular pleasure to get to know some locals and to have some interesting conversations...
I'm a very open-minded, self-confident and communicative person. I'm making jokes all the time and I just enjoy life I guess. All my friends would consider me as a funny person and quite easy to deal with.
I love speaking foreign languages and having nice conversations to exchange views with others. I guess I'm someone with an inquisitive mind, so feel free to talk to me. =)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Two years ago I went on a working holiday trip through Canada. After finishing secondary-school in Germany I used this opportunity to join the world to improve my French and English skills. I traveled from Québec to British Columbia and I stayed with several hosts on CouchSurfing.
Back in Montréal for studies I would like to meet other couchsurfers to get into a conversation and to enjoy this beautiful city!

Interests

I'm very interested in languages and culture. I'm always down for a nice conversation to get to know new people and I like to learn about their traditions. Especially the japanese and french culture seem very interesting to me.
Furthermore I love music! I play the piano since I've been 4 years old. I like martial arts and I do Kendo for several years now. I also have a passion for art and design and I like traveling of course.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went hiking in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and clambered several peaks up to 3.000 m. The view, the atmosphere and the whole feeling were just amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm willing to share everything I can. Just let me know if you need something. In either case we'll need to share my bedroom, as I have a small studio apartment.
I love meeting new people and learn about them. You can teach me some words in your mother tongue or show me your culture. In return I can help you to improve your German and French and give you an understanding of German and French culture!
I know the city very well and I can show you around. I know a lot of local secrets and nice places in Oldenburg. It's yours to discover. =)
