¡Hola! Soy solo un jóven humano más jugando a ser adulto y tratando de no fracasar en el intento (tengo 26 en realidad, pero esta cosa no me deja cambiar mi edad). Mientras tanto, me escapo a algún viajecito siempre que puedo.

Nací en Colombia, a 2600 m.s.n.m en la caótica ciudad de Bogotá, donde aún resido (ya sé, la altura no es nada sorprendente para muchos vecinos andinos). Me considero una persona muy abierta y me encanta explorar nuevos lugares mientras conozco todo tipo de personas con diferentes historias, intereses y conocimientos. También soy álgo ñoño; me gusta aprender de todo un poco, especialmente sobre temas con los que no estoy muy familiarizado (sabiduría ancestral, historia, literatura, música...).

Sobre mi profesión, soy biólogo y trabajo actualmente en el Jardín Botánico de Bogotá. Profundamente adicto a la naturaleza, sobre todo a las flores, a algunos bichos y a los paisajes de alta montaña. Me gustaría dedicarme algún día a la divulgación científica, así que me encanta hablar sobre lo locas y maravillosas que son las expresiones de vida que existen sobre la Tierra. A parte de eso, me gusta tomar fotos y dibujar de vez en cuando, disfruto de las galerías y los museos y de la historia del arte (aunque no sé mucho al respecto). También me gustan mucho el cine y el teatro. Y aunque no soy fan de los deportes, me fascina caminar largas distancias, tanto en la ciudad como en el campo 😊

Hey There! I'm just another young human trying to be a 'decent' adult (actually 26 yo but this thing won't let me change my age). In the mean time, I love to travel as much as I can!

I was born in Colombia, 2600 m.a.s.l. in the chaotic city of Bogotá, where I still live (I know the altitude might not be particularly surprising for many Andean neighbors). I consider myself pretty open-minded and love exploring new places while getting to meet new people with different backgrounds, interests and knowledge. Kinda nerd as well! I like learning about all sorts of things, mostly those I'm not very familiar with (traditional knowledge, history, literature, music...)

As for my job, I'm a biologist and currently work as a researcher at the Bogotá Botanical Garden. So yes, I'm kind of addicted to nature especially when it comes to flowers, bugs and high mountains. I'm also a science-communication enthusiast and enjoy talking about how crazy and beautiful living beings can be. Apart from that, I like taking pictures, drawing from time to time, and love galleries and museums, as well as art history (I barely know anything about it but am always willing to learn). I really like movies and theatre too. Although not very much into sports, I absolutely love walking long distances, both in cities and in the countryside. And if it comes to that, I like dancing and drinking wine 😊

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

La primera vez que viví fuera de Colombia, descubrí la forma en la que me gusta viajar: con lo que tengo, lejos de los lujos y del turismo invasivo. Entonces se me ocurrió utilizar Couchsurfing, y aunque mi mamá me dijo que estaba loco, ¡todo salió de maravilla! Ahora soy un gran fan. He conocido personas increíbles, que no solo me han abierto las puertas de su hogar, sino que también se han tomado el tiempo de mostrarme sus territorios desde su perspectiva local. No hay mejor manera de conocer nuevos lugares.

The first time I lived outside Colombia, I discovered the way I like to travel: low budget and away from luxuries or basic/invasive tourism. So I gave Couchsurfing a try, and even though my Latina mother said I was crazy, it was beyond amazing! Now I declare myself an addict. I've had the pleasure to meet such wonderful people! They kindly offered me a place and showed me their cities from their very own local perspective. There's no better way to explore new places.
