ABOUT ME

I am a third year phd student in Women's Studies at the University of MD, College Park. My research is on gender creative/transgender children. I graduated from Bucknell University in 2009 with a double major in Women's Studies and Creative Writing.

I love writing, and have been writing creatively from about the time I learned to form sentences. My first stories were about my pet dinosaur's experiences at school. Now I mostly write poetry, focusing on nature and how it reflects my life and my relationships with others.

I am the oldest of four. I have two youngers sisters (age 21 and 15) and a brother (age 12).

I love children.

My Mom is British and I have dual-nationality. After a childhood of crossing the atlantic to visit relatives in England, Holland and France it is no wonder that I have fallen in love with traveling, and the fun of going new places and meeting new people. I have lived in England three times, a year when I was six, a year when I was twelve, and for 7 months studying abroad my junior year of undergrad. I also studied abroad in Spain. In 2000-2010 I did an anthropology project in Chiapas, Mexico, living in a rural indigenous village for 4 and half months.

I love going places and finding out what it is really like behind all the touristy glitz and glam. Who are the people who live there? What is it really like?

I like to listen to people. I like to hear their stories and to try and understand who they are. Relationships and friendships are very important to me.
