What to say? I have worked as an ESL teacher in China for just over 1.5 years and have lived in Italy and Canada on student exchanges, and spent a fair bit of time in England.
My partner, Luke has travelled through Europe, America and together with me in Asia.
We live outside the city with a big yard. It's an older style house that we are renovating slowly. We're workaholics, but if we're free - would love to catch up and show you around my city! We have a spare room, but it depends on what is happening at the house (we're currently renovating, so the house is some time shambolic!) - but send us a message, if we're able to accommodate you - we'll let you know how!
We have 2 friendly cats (one is diabetic - so I do have to look after him!) and 2 big dogs, 5 chooks, 3 ducks and 1 drake! Please let me know that you are "pet friendly" if you would like to stay :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've couchsurfed myself a few times around the place and have hosted a few times too. I'm all for meeting new people - travelling is all about getting to know the "locals", which is why I love to couchsurf!

I prefer to see that potential couchsurfers have made an effort to read my profile (eg. let us know you like cats, as we have 2). Also, I prefer to host couchsurfers who have some references and photos, just so I feel more comfortable welcoming people into our home. My first couchsurfing experience was while I was travelling with a friend in Estonia. Since then, I've couchsurfed (and hosted) around China and then couchsurfed in Europe and North America. I haven't travelled a lot in the last couple of years, but I've been hosting, so I can still enjoy the travel adventures!

Interests

I love animals, reading, theatre, music, board games, pub trivia and most definitely, travelling!
Luke has similar interests, but also enjoys fixing things. He's great with mechanics and electronics!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading - will read most things - love biographies, girly books and true stories! I spent almost 10 years working in a Video Store during High School & Uni - so I've seen far too many movies in my time!!

Some of my favourite foreign movies include 'Goodbye Lenin', 'The Edukators', 'Le Fate Ignorante', 'Ricorditi di me', 'Run Lola Run' and 'Amelie'. I absolutely adore the french TV series 'Deux Percent' (Call my agent) and 'Plan Coeur' (The Hook Up Plan).

Luke prefers Sci Fi, and some of his favourites include Star Trek and Star Wars (but I forgive him his sins ;) )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing memories I get from traveling, are DEFINITELY the people that I meet. I find it so wonderful that I can travel around and catch up with friends all over the world. At the same time, it's always a shame saying goodbye :(
