About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to keep learning. I want to be kind to people. And I am trying to live with a sense of wonder wherever I go.

ABOUT ME

Friendly and easygoing. Love learning new things from people. Love hearing stories.

I drink tea. I am a voracious when it comes to attending performing arts events. I like foreign films. I am finding that I feel like dancing all the time.

As of June 2010, I will be starting the life of a nomad. I will be living/working in New York, Boston, Paris and possibly the Bay Area. It would be great to spend time with interesting people in some amazing cities.

Interests

FOOD - I like trying new things from different parts of the world. I have been equally happy buying something from a street stall as I am in a Michelin restaurant. I love markets.

ARTS - dance, music, theater, museums. also interested in seeing things outside of the norms of traditional high art - street performances, underground cabaret, or other "events" like flashmobs, amphitheater karaoke, etcetera.

OUTINGS - I want to dance more salsa cubana, swing, and other social dance forms. I prefer more intimate venues...more comfortable in a café/restaurant/terrace than a loud bar, but am open to anything if it is interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now I am reading Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

My favorite recent read was Biography of Red by Anne Carson. Amazing.

My favorite movie is probably Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Definitely open to hearing yours.

Teach, Learn, Share

I need to learn German and Italian for my work in the opera. I need to learn about life for my work in the arts.

I have had quite a bit of experience teaching beginning actors. This work has been gratifying to me--it's about helping someone get comfortable enough with their own voice and body to express themselves and experience human interactions more fully and more presently.
