About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cheap Travels

ABOUT ME

Hi all,

I am a student from the US currently studying abroad in Toledo, Spain. I decided to come to Spain because I enjoy seeing the world and the trip fit well with my Spanish Studies Major. I don't have a very uncommon set of interests; I used to be obsessed with playing sports but that passion has been fading away ever sense high school ended. Now I like spending my free time listening/finding new music, watching my tv shows (the office, House, Entourage, Seinfield y el Internado) trying to stay in shape (any type of physical activity) going out for midday merienda (snack) and enjoying the simple things.

PHILOSOPHY

Ha, my personal philosophy is that I'm too young to have one. I'm here to learn not to teach anyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I first heard of this project through a few people that I shared a hostel with my first night in Spain. I have had a profile for a few months now but other than that I haven't participated at all. I can't currently host traveler because I'm currently living abroad with a Spanish host family but I would be happy to go out for a drink/show anyone around Toledo if you hit me up.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

To this moment I have 0 exp. I am going to begin a month long travel trip in about 30 days though so I'm hopping that this fact changes soon! I would like to spend as much time out of hostels and in living rooms as possible. I love the community spirit of sharing your house/knowledge with extranjeros.

Interests

Hmmm,

I like the Spanish language, for this reason I study it, and thinking of new ways to empress yourself in general.

I'm a huge music fan (doesn't mean I necessarily know a ton about it), my favorite stiles are alternative rock, rap/hip-hop, Reggie, classical rock and Latin but I am open to trying anything new.

I like any type of physical activity. I have played on baseball, basketball, football (the traditional American sports) teams. But also have tried to pick up futbol since coming to Spain, I don't mind being bad at a sport, I just like playing.

I am a terrible dancer but I would love to learn to dance (any type really) well. Some of my friends tried to teach me the Salsa for a while but at this moment we have kinda given up on that venture.

Another interest of mine is comedy. I grew up watching Dave Chappelle, Mitch Hedberg, and Ali G. I also love George Carlin's critiques on society.

Music, Movies, and Books

All time favorite movies are Snatch, Office Space, Shawshank Redemption and Pulp Fiction.

Books.. hmm I don't read too much, I liked Harry Potter when I was younger :)

Music: Atmosphere, Bobby Ray, Cam'ron, The Game, Gang Starr, Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Justice, Lil Wayne, The Killers, Maná, Moby, MGMT, Mecano, Nappy Roots, The Roots, Scarface, T.I., Wyclef Jean, Afroman, Andre 3000, Ben E. King, Billy Joel, Black Eyed Peas, Dead Prez, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Eminem, Enya, Evanescence, Gym Class Heroes, Johnny Cash, Nick Brodnax aka Blackbeard, Santigold, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer and Biz Markie are just a few artists that I like to get down to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught my little brother how you can get double to food you order at a fast food restaurant (the bag snatch)

Here is an example if in case you don't know what a bad snatch is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcQhK0CXOiY

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my extensive knowledge of Midwestern urban English. Back in my day I played for many an urban basketball team/hung out on the block. It might not be very useful knowledge for a European but it's still fun to know!!

Anyone want to know how to throw a fastball (the heat), curve ball (the deuce), slider, change up, knuckle ball, field a grounder, take a cut off, turn a double play, shoot a basketball or box out just ask.

I also used to work in street construction, so if your looking for someone to talk to you about road maintenance strategies I'm good for that!

Countries I’ve Visited
