About Me

My husband Sebastien and I are currently on Sabbatical and seeing as much of the world as possible.

Its been a long while since I’ve been on Couchsurfing, but been panging for some local connection on our travels. (Especially queer connections!)

Looking forward to meeting you all.

CURRENT MISSION

To find my mission

ABOUT ME

I'm a city boy with a passion for the outdoors. I don't like to have too much direction, which often leads me to great places and occasionally to some places I'd rather not be.

I often get a pang for adventure and will try and satisfy it with new experiences. Be it going away somewhere new, meeting new people, or renting a houseboat on the Rideau Canal.

PHILOSOPHY

I've been told I smile too much, act like a Grandfather (hence the nickname Gramps that seems to stick wherever i go) and that I also dress like one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have been garnering a massive karma surplus by hosting a bunch of surfers over the years. Now looking forward to my first surfing experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very positive!

Interests

I like sports - of the frisbee, squash and tennis kinds, and a little hockey.

Recently discovered a interest in going to concerts, and some inkling towards electronic music.

Since writing the above, I became a bit of a concert junkie for a while. Now have a more balanced approach. I also like making food with friends real wood burning fire places

Music, Movies, and Books

Somehow don't make much time for any of the above. I really don't know where the average North American finds 2.5 hours per day to watch the tube. That being said, I'd like to make more time for reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to the arctic (near baffin island) to excavate an archeological site. We slept with loaded shotguns under our pillows in case of polar bears. However, because of they're protected, you get in big trouble if you happen to shoot one that's more than a couple dozen or so meters away. Fortunately the dog scared away the only polar bear we encountered at a good distance.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a bicycle safety instructor for the City of Toronto, and can consequently make you the safest Cyclist around. I bike everywhere, often on my two seater quadricycle, beware. I can fix a lot of bikes and am happy to help out with yours.
