Overview
About Me
Over time, I’ve noticed that many use CS mainly for free stays, which is totally fine. just be upfront about it. Meanwhile I've also observed that hosts often have selective biases at accepting travelers. And again, it is fine. My point is that it would save everyone's time if we're being upfront about it, no? :)
I occasionally offer trip-planning advice to CS travelers. In my free time, I reach out to travelers to ask if they need help planning their trip in Bali. I’m also open to discuss anyone's plan to explore Bali, feel free to ping me.
When it comes to hosting, I do a bit of basic profiling. I have a tendency to host or respond more to first-timers and people who give more than they take—those who help others, even if they don’t always receive the same support in return.
====
I'm particularly interested in travelers considering mid- to long-term stays in Bali, whether for remote work or an extended vacation. I'm not offering my place to stay for long-term. But if you're considering about relocating to Bali, feel free to message me. It has something to do with my project, and don't worry I won't charge you any single cents :)

As a Host
I’m happy to help with trip planning, particularly to Bali, other islands in Indonesia, or beyond—preferably via messages, but I’m open to meetups when time allows.
====
As a Traveler
I’m an introverted traveler, more interested in deep insights than just "traveling, taking pics, having fun by doing crazy things". I'm not the kind who stays at cheap hostels but splurges on parties, weed, or mushrooms. I prefer cultural immersion and observation - while staying at cheap hostels hahaha.
====
I’m not a big fans of bars or clubs, but I do enjoy good beer, wine, and meaningful discussions—on life, spirituality, culture, politics, sports, science, small-ethical businesses, or whatever.
Guess that makes me a 70-year-old at heart, haha. Hopefully this description may set your expectation on what kind of host or guest I am.

- Europe: Christianity in a version where traditions and arts are heavily expressed (either in the Latin West and East Orthodoxy), ancient cultures of Greek and Roman
- America: Aztec, Inca, Maya

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In most cases, everything is amazing in its own way, though for sure I often forgot to enjoy living in those amazing moments.
- I did Camino de Santiago in 3 weeks by walking for 800kms
- I did a brief pilgrimage in Tibet, circumambulating a hill for a few kilometers in a day
- And I'm aware that millions of other people have done what I did, so they're not really special hahaha
Teach, Learn, Share
If we can amicably discuss things objectively, criticize the nations/religions/ideologies/political stances/other sensitive topics -- and more importantly if we're capable of laughing at our own stupidity, having some self-deprecating jokes, then I believe we'll have a great time :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
- Help setting some itineraries for a trip around Indonesia (Bali, Java, Komodo, etc), Southeast Asia, East Asia, South Asia, and Australia
- Discuss some ideas about tourism and backpacking, either from the academic or practical perspective
- Insights on relocating to Bali
